Description

We are now looking for a librarian who can, wants, and dares to help develop the library services at our beloved library in Sweden's youngest town! Culture is a strong brand in the municipality, and the library and the library bus are natural meeting places for many.

The library is one of 16 libraries that are part of Bibliotek Värmland, including a shared library system and a common website. We are now looking for a service-oriented and creative librarian who wants to help develop the library and our services into the future. Does this sound like a job for you? Responsibilities

Together with other library staff, you will drive and develop library services primarily for adults. It is important for us to work with reading promotion, to develop work towards prioritized groups, to promote digital participation, and to strengthen the library as a democratic arena. It is desirable that you can work proactively and inspiringly in these areas. In addition to regular library work such as media purchasing, inventory review, book clubs, library tours, etc., you will be part of our program and communication group responsible for driving and coordinating the library's program activities and marketing. Participation in various groups and networks within the Bibliotek Värmland collaboration is included in the position.

As an employee at Säffle library, you will have a varied job that includes work at the library, library bus, children's and adult sections, as well as evening and weekend shifts.

We are looking for someone who

• has a degree in library and information science
• has good digital skills and experience with social media and other digital platforms
• has very good knowledge of Swedish - spoken and written.
• is flexible and has a strong sense of responsibility for the entire library operation.
• is creative, proactive, and has good collaboration skills
• has at least a B driver's license
• enjoys building relationships, working both independently and collaboratively with others, and has a good attitude.

Qualifications

You have a degree in library and information science. Even those who are in their final semester are welcome to apply. You have at least a B driver's license.

Conditions

Start date 2026-03-01 or by agreement. During the Christmas holiday, we have limited opportunities to answer questions.
