Job Advertisement: Teacher at the Education Unit

As a teacher at the Education Unit of the Military Academy in Halmstad, you will play an important role in a successful team. Together with competent and dedicated colleagues, you will take responsibility for your own and the unit's development. By educating our cadets and students, you contribute to building a stronger defense.

About the Unit

The Education Unit trains future specialist and reserve officers as well as experienced specialist officers for higher positions. The unit consists of 3 different departments with a total of 45 employees.

You will belong to the Leadership Department at the Education Unit, a team of 16 people. The department educates and teaches in four main subject areas: leadership, pedagogy, English, and physical combat readiness. We educate students in SOU, ÖHSOU, HSOU, and ROU.

Main Responsibilities

• Plan, develop subjects, and conduct training as a teacher or course leader in pedagogy/leadership together with a smaller working group.
• Collaborate with other teachers and course leaders to coordinate/theme their subject areas with pedagogy/leadership subjects.
• Be able to participate in various exercises, both domestically and abroad, such as field training, field exercises, and winter training.
• Be able to participate in exercises for your own combat unit.
• Support other subjects within the Education Unit.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Basic professional officer training within the Armed Forces
• Experience in operations or training at a combat unit

You should have good social skills and find it easy to collaborate with others. You have the ability to organize and plan your own work in different time perspectives and tempos. You need to be structured, meticulous, and responsible. It is important that you have commitment, a forward-looking attitude, and demonstrate leadership. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious

• Experience in management or leadership
• Experience in teaching pedagogy/leadership at a unit or school.
• Completed the course Instructor Educational Methodology
• Instructor in one of the FHS concept training programs in leadership, e.g., UGL, UL, or LoS.
