At the Community Building Office, about 200 people work to make Sigtuna municipality an attractive, vibrant, and safe place to live and work. We plan new residential and business areas. We design and build roads and utilities for water and sewage. We take care of parks and forests as well as schoolyards, preschool yards, and playgrounds. We work with traffic issues, parking supervision, waste management, and much more. We handle regulatory activities and exercise supervision and control, as well as issue permits within our areas. We invest in our employees through good resources for professional development and joint activities. Sigtuna municipality is an expanding municipality with extensive housing construction, many business establishments, and investments in public spaces.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sports Unit is organizationally part of the Technical Department at the Community Building Office, together with Street, Traffic, and Park Operations.

There is work across boundaries where we help each other to best serve our residents.

However, our main task is to be responsible for the operation of the municipality's various sports facilities on behalf of the Leisure Unit of the Culture and Leisure Administration.

Ice rinks, sports fields, swimming and sports halls, and football pitches are examples of facilities included in our area of responsibility.

We are now looking for a new colleague to join our team of seven caretakers.

The position is a shift job and involves maintenance, operation, and upkeep of sports fields, ice rinks, football pitches, sports halls, exercise tracks, as well as outdoor swimming pools and lake ice plowing.

There are also other tasks such as various service assignments for other units within the municipality, as well as associations in connection with events or regular activities.

As an employee with us, you will have daily contact with associations and customers at our facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a high school education and preferably experience working as a caretaker.

You are a team player who is used to working with people and service. You thrive in this role and are also accustomed to delivering and ensuring that the job gets done. You are quick to pitch in and can handle a high pace if needed.

For this position, you need to have a valid driver's license B (Manual) and be able to swim.

It is advantageous to have a driver's license BE, which is required to obtain during the probationary period if not already held at the time of employment. The cost for this will be covered by the employer, while the engagement is the responsibility of the employee. If this is not fulfilled, the employment will be terminated before 6 months.

Experience in operating ice machines, tractors/ATVs, and other green area machines is also advantageous.

We would like you to be creative and initiative-driven and have an easy time contributing to a positive atmosphere in the workplace, and be able to work independently.

The work requires physical effort, and more intense periods may occur.

An interest in sports is an advantage in this work.
