We are looking for an experienced bus mechanic, a key role in the establishment of our own workshop.

(Moving to a new 1300 sqm facility in Staffanstorp on April 1)

We are looking for only those who have at least 10 years of documented experience as a bus mechanic and who have worked with older buses and have knowledge of these buses.

This is not a junior position and not a role where training is provided.

About the position

We are now seeking a highly experienced bus mechanic who wants to take a central and long-term role in a growing company. You will be the first mechanic in the company and responsible for maintenance, service, and technical reliability of our own fleet, which currently consists of about 20 buses and continues to grow.

Our vehicles are primarily Setra and Mercedes, model years 1995–2007. These are older buses where experience, intuition, and deep system understanding are crucial.

The work involves only our own fleet, no external customer jobs.

Job responsibilities

You will work with:

• Ongoing service, troubleshooting, and repair of older buses

• Mechanical maintenance of driveline, brakes, steering, air systems, cooling systems, etc.

• Preventive maintenance to ensure high operational reliability

• Diagnostics and problem-solving without ready-made manuals in many cases

• Review and action before inspections and follow-up checks

• Technical support during bus modifications (in collaboration with carpentry and electrical teams)

You will work closely with company management and have significant influence over how work is planned and executed.

We currently have no established workshop.

As our first mechanic, you will:

• Help design workshop areas, workflows, and equipment
• 
  
• Influence tool purchases, work methods, and structure

• Create a work environment that is optimal for your work.

• Lay the foundation for future mechanics, as we plan to hire additional staff as needed.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience as a bus mechanic

• Documented experience with older buses (approx. 1995–2007)

• Very good knowledge of Setra and Mercedes

• Ability to work independently and in a structured manner

• Very good problem-solving skills

• Class B driver's license (required)

• Swedish or English in spoken and written form

• You must be self-sufficient – no training is available at this time

Meritorious

• Class D driver's license

• Experience working with older vehicles without modern diagnostic systems

• Experience from transport companies, bus companies, or larger vehicle fleets

• Previous responsibility for workshop, planning, or technical leadership
