The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

Hello!

We are now looking for you who want to work with us this summer! We are the orthopedic and surgical department at Kungälv Hospital, located in our beautiful facilities on the second floor.

More about us

Almost 5 years ago, we moved into one of Sweden's most modern hospital ward buildings. The department has 28 beds where all patients have their own room including a bathroom. The environment is fresh and easy to work in. The department focuses on broad orthopedic and surgical care, both acute and planned. We care for patients with acute conditions after trauma, accidents, and illness. Patients with infections and pain issues are also treated in the department.

Our goal is to continuously develop and improve our operations and to always strive to become even better when it comes to patient safety, patient satisfaction, and working environment.

We are committed to maintaining a good working climate, a safe environment, and close collaboration during both good and less good days. Your future colleagues are a wonderful group who are caring towards patients, relatives, and each other - together we make the department a place where everyone can thrive.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant and have an interest in working in emergency care. Experience in orthopedic and/or surgical care is an advantage.

If you are a student in the nursing program, you need to have completed semester 3 or semester 4 depending on your educational program.

If you are a student in the medical program, you need to have completed semester 5 or semester 6 depending on your educational program.

Who are we looking for?

You enjoy challenges, have the ability to make quick decisions, and can handle acute situations in a calm and methodical manner. For you, good collaboration skills, joy in working in a team, and a good attitude towards both patients and colleagues are a given. It is also important that you can work independently.

Working in a care department is teamwork, and we therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability. We hope that you want to become our new colleague this summer!

Protected Job Title for Nursing Assistants

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected job title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title of nursing assistant in healthcare and social services.
