About the job

In Lidköping Municipality, we actively work to ensure that support for people with disabilities is designed to strengthen the individual's self-esteem and thus enable good living conditions based on the individual's wishes and needs.

We are looking for a support educator for the LSS 4 unit who wants to help drive the development of working methods and pedagogical approaches together with the unit manager, the area's and unit's other educators, as well as the support assistants/support staff of the operation. The support educator is part of the workgroup and is involved in the daily work.

The LSS 4 unit includes two group homes and one service apartment, Norra Härenes group home, Gamla Läckövägens group home, and Magasinsgatans service apartment.

Job responsibilities

We are looking for someone who wants to work with people with disabilities and who has the individual's needs at the center. The work as a support educator means that you are a resource and role model in the pedagogical work. In your role, you will work to develop, plan, evaluate, and lead the pedagogical work while being involved in the everyday work of providing users with support in their daily lives. You will drive the methodological development in the unit and provide your colleagues with guidance and support so that the assistance to the residents is provided adequately in accordance with set goals, quality requirements, and other guidelines.

You are also expected to be responsible for pedagogical assessments and mapping to find the right support and adjustments for each individual user. Working with set goals with other colleagues and being involved in establishing implementation plans is part of your role. As a support educator, you also have environmental monitoring and can identify areas for development in your own operation. You work on behalf of the unit manager to ensure the unit's quality work by shaping job descriptions and implementing methods, working methods, and routines.

We work in a team-based manner and actively strengthen the user's self-esteem and independence, focusing on the individual's strengths, knowledge, and resources. Support educators collaborate with other internal and external operations. You are also part of a network with other support educators within the area of functional support in Lidköping Municipality.

Working hours: Day/evening, sleeping on-call, and every other weekend.

You are confident and independent when it comes to working with clarifying pedagogy, adjustments, communication, and challenging behavior. It is natural for you to work in a team-based and unpretentious manner. You are responsible and have a knack for planning and evaluating the work in the unit. The work requires you to be able to work pedagogically in a structured and clarifying way, see the whole, and have the ability to lead/guide other colleagues in groups and individually.

Furthermore, you have a professional approach, the ability to collaborate, and create good relationships with the individual, relatives, colleagues, manager, and other professional groups. Requirements:

• YH education as a support educator (200 YH points) or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• B driver's license
