The IT department's mission is to meet the IT and telecommunications needs of the Kalmar municipal group. In close collaboration with the operations, IT manages, maintains, and develops new and existing IT solutions as well as operational systems. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a service-oriented and committed system operations technician to join our team in Infrastructure at Kalmar Municipality. Are you our next colleague?
As a system operations technician with us, you will work in a team of 20 people who together manage Kalmar Municipality's basic infrastructure such as servers, storage, directory services, SQL servers, networks, and client management. We are also responsible for the system operations of several operational support systems. The IT department works according to the ITIL framework, primarily with the processes Incident, Service Request, Change, and Problem. For the operational support systems within the municipality, management, development, and operations are handled according to our collaboration model.
The work as a system operations technician means that you will be responsible for the operation of several operational support systems. The work will be done in close collaboration with IT management leaders, server/storage technicians, suppliers, and operations. Together with the operations, you will be responsible for setting up annual planning, managing updates, and troubleshooting for your systems.
We offer an independent work environment, and we expect you to have the competence to make your own decisions regarding actions related to the systems included in the management object based on approved management plans and budget. You will work with upgrades, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the systems included in the object. The position also includes setting up and commissioning new systems and being a technical expert in implementation projects as well as assisting in the development of management plans.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in IT with a focus on system technology or work experience that the employer deems equivalent. You should have at least three years of experience in similar tasks.
We want you to have documented knowledge of:
- Documented knowledge in system operations.
- Documented knowledge of Windows Server 2012r2 - 2019.
- Documented knowledge of Active Directory.
- Documented knowledge of MS SQL.
- Documented knowledge of IIS server.
It is advantageous if you have knowledge of:
- ITIL
- Experience working in ticket management systems (ITSM)
- It is also desirable that you have experience working with the operation of Windows Server OS and networks.
We are looking for someone who is structured and has a systematic approach to work. You are service-oriented and have an interest in problem-solving. The work requires you to have the ability to work together with others in a team while also being able to work independently. You are resilient under stress and have the ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks while being able to make logical and analytical reasoning. It is important that you have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and good knowledge of English. Personal suitability is highly valued.
The position requires a B driver's license.
