Are you looking for a meaningful job where you have the opportunity to develop both professionally and personally? Then this could be the right position for you!

The psychiatric care in the adult psychiatry area in Helsingborg consists of three outpatient clinics located in Helsingborg, Landskrona, and Ängelholm, as well as a unit that provides round-the-clock care and day care, located in Helsingborg. Ward 57 is a round-the-clock ward with 18 beds for patients with psychotic disorders and first-time psychosis. Patients are cared for voluntarily or under the Mental Health Act (LPT). We have about 30 employees on the ward, and the team consists of nursing assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, doctors, medical secretaries, unit managers, and service hosts.

Ward 57 is located outside the hospital area at Pålsjö forest, which benefits patient care and makes it easy for staff to park right outside. The ward is specifically designed for patients with psychotic disorders and features large open spaces, airy rooms, and an atrium courtyard. We have a very close collaboration with the Helsingborg psychosis clinic located next door, where we have access to day care that includes, among other things, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, enabling assessment, activation, and rehabilitation of patients in a comprehensive manner.

We are transitioning to the title of nursing assistant and will gradually phase out the title of caregiver across all our psychiatric services. This work started on November 1, 2023. The change in title will not alter the need for specialist competence in psychiatry. Specialist competence remains very important and will continue to be developed. Within the administration, work has begun to review what is needed for continued competence development, increased professional knowledge, and development opportunities related to patient work.

We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant and have applied/received proof of protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We now have the opportunity to welcome nursing assistants to our close-knit team at Ward 57! The positions are hourly and we would like you to be able to work five shifts per month. With us, you will work in a stimulating workplace with high competence and a good collaborative climate.

As a nursing assistant, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of tasks. In your role, you will work closely with patients and participate in the work and routines related to care, conversations, and support for patients. It is also the nursing assistants who play a significant role in the daily work on the ward. Each day begins with structuring tasks for the day with rounds and/or team meetings. We prioritize close care work and time with patients highly. Nursing assistants and nurses work closely together and assist with administrative tasks to ensure that everyone is available for the patients. In your role as a nursing assistant, you will be a contact person for one or more patients, where you are an active part of the patient's care on the ward.

We offer all our staff training in TERMA (Therapeutic Meeting with Aggression), CPR, and more.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant and can provide valid proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare. This means that you have completed an approved upper secondary care and nursing education (2500 points), approved care and nursing education via adult education (minimum 1350 points), or another equivalent nursing assistant education. Since the work largely involves communication and documentation, good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are a requirement. You also master basic medical technical procedures at the nursing assistant level, such as venous blood sampling, pulse and blood pressure measurement, as well as EKG examinations and wound care. We prefer that you have experience working as a caregiver and/or nursing assistant. Applicants who currently hold a permanent position with the title caregiver can apply and, if hired, retain the title (but only until 2033 when the title caregiver will cease within our services).

It is advantageous if you have experience working in psychiatry or with patients with mental health issues, especially psychosis care. Additionally, good computer skills and basic knowledge of our journal system Melior are beneficial.

You have a genuine interest in psychiatric care and always put the patient first. We believe that you as a person are secure and stable; it is important that you can remain calm and have a low-arousal approach in stressful situations. With a strong sense of service and responsibility, as well as good collaborative skills, you humbly meet the situation that the patient and their relatives are facing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Please attach your nursing assistant certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare if you have received it, or your diploma to the application, or a certificate showing that you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023. If you have not yet received the certificate, you will be given a title as a nursing assistant in psychiatry pending.

Extracts from the suspicion and criminal records will be made before any employment.

This recruitment process applies rolling selection. Welcome to submit your application today!
