Quality Technicians at BAE Systems Bofors

Do you want to work closely with production and be a key person in daily quality work? We are now looking for two structured and meticulous quality technicians who want to take a central role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards.

This is an opportunity for you who thrive in a practical, varied role with many points of contact – and who want to contribute to quality assurance in world-leading defense technology.

About the Company

BAE Systems Bofors is a high-tech company that develops and integrates advanced weapon systems. With approximately 700 employees in Karlskoga, Karlstad, and Örebro, we are a national resource with unique expertise in artillery pieces, naval guns, ammunition, and remotely controlled weapon systems. We operate in a global context and work closely with both local and international partners.

About the Role

As a quality technician, you will be the first point of contact for quality issues in production. You will work closely with assemblers, quality engineers, and other colleagues within Operations to quickly capture, analyze, and drive quality issues forward. The role is central to maintaining stable flows and ensuring quality in our products.

You will have a practical and operational role where you handle quality deviations and ensure that the correct documentation and procedures are followed. BAE Systems is in a strong growth phase, and the team needs to expand to meet an increasing production rate – which means you will enter a situation where you can truly contribute and have a significant influence on daily quality work.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Manage quality issues that arise in production together with assembly personnel.
  • Perform an initial analysis of internal and external deviations.
  • Describe and ensure quality handover to quality engineers.
  • Check and determine the extent of deviations.
  • Be responsible for quarantine cages and ensure progress in deviation cases.
  • Be responsible for trial assembly.
  • Manage and compile weapon folders according to applicable directives before delivery.
  • Ensure calibration validity for equipment used in quality work.
  • Participate in risk analyses and production reviews.

You will have a role where you work closely with the product, the people, and the quality processes, and where your work is directly reflected in the final result of the product.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is structured, meticulous, and thrives in a practical role with many points of contact. You need to be able to build trust with assemblers and production teams while managing documentation and following up on deviations with precision.

We believe you have:

  • Post-secondary education with a technical focus, or another background deemed equivalent.
  • Experience in quality work or a similar role within production or assembly.
  • Good ability to document, analyze, and work in a structured manner.
  • A genuine interest in quality and improvement work.

It is an advantage if you have worked in a manufacturing industry or with deviation management, but the most important thing is your meticulousness, ability to collaborate, and willingness to develop within quality.

BAE Systems Offers

BAE Systems Bofors is part of a large group, which can create opportunities for international experiences during your employment. As an employee, you will be offered personal development programs and ongoing training if you have ambitions to grow both personally and professionally. To help you get into the role, you will be assigned a mentor from day one who will support you and help you discuss challenges and ideas.

We want you to enjoy both at work and outside of it, which is why we focus on areas that contribute to a good work-life balance, such as generous flexible hours. You will have the opportunity to participate in our enjoyable activities organized by our skilled and engaged health promoters, and you can also visit our newly built gym. Our family-like atmosphere contributes to a high level of satisfaction, which also creates added value for you and your family.
