E.ON in Sweden
E.ON in Sweden is part of the international energy group E.ON SE, headquartered in Essen, Germany. The group employs around 70,000 people in 17 countries. In Sweden, around 2,100 dedicated employees work across the country. Our Nordic headquarters is located in Malmö. In Sweden, we deliver electricity, heat, and smart energy solutions to over one million households and businesses. E.ON's role is to take responsibility and drive development forward, enabling more people to transition to sustainable energy. With our investments and our customers' willingness to contribute, we work to continue electrifying society and meet future energy needs.
About us
At E.ON, we are developing and managing the future of district heating and cooling solutions. In Örebro, Åbyverket is the heart of our local energy supply – here we produce district heating, electricity, and steam in an environment where technology, energy optimization, and sustainability meet every day. You will be part of a national controlling network with a business-oriented focus while also working in the local production management in Örebro. Our shared ambition is to create smooth, data-driven, and long-term sustainable financial governance that supports daily operations and strategic transformation.
We are now looking for a new colleague for the role of Production Controller, and we hope it could be you!
Your role
As a Production Controller, you are the key person who connects technology with finance – you translate operational events into clear insights and decisions. You work closely with production in Örebro and are part of the production management team, where your role is to drive ongoing follow-up and long-term analyses. You actively participate in shaping the strategy moving forward as well as in more operational decisions, where you contribute your financial expertise and ability to interpret and communicate financial data in a way that creates understanding and supports the organization's goals.
Your main responsibilities:
- Monthly closing & KPI reporting: analyze revenues and direct production costs, compare against budget and forecast, and risk reporting.
- Budget & forecasting: contribute to planning and follow-up of budget and long-term financial forecasts that support the organization's goals.
- Result follow-up: monitor and analyze financial outcomes and assess consequences of changes in production, e.g., during operational disruptions or optimization choices.
- Operations and annual plan: own the overall operational plan as a basis for budget and follow-up; support the operations manager, production manager, and facility managers in operational financial matters.
- Optimization & profitability: conduct profitability analyses and identify improvements in energy and production flows.
- Reporting: manage and compile financial, environmental, and regulatory reports, including emissions allowances and statistics to relevant authorities.
The position is based at our production facility at Åbyverket in Örebro.
Your experiences
To succeed and thrive in this role, we are looking for someone with an engineering background and a strong interest in finance, analysis, and governance of technical operations. You thrive in the intersection of technology and finance and have the ability to understand both process engineering contexts and their economic implications. We expect you to have some years of experience in production or process technology, which enables you to quickly grasp our complex flows, and if you also have experience in the energy sector, it is considered an advantage.
We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in technology and who wants to help shape the future energy system. You see the opportunities in the energy transition and have a good understanding of how technology, finance, and sustainability are interconnected. You are analytical and curious, while also having a solution-oriented mindset, an interest in digitalization and new working methods, and the courage to challenge and contribute innovative perspectives. The role requires you to be comfortable with taking responsibility and the ability to work independently, while also valuing collaboration and team spirit – you work closely with production but are also an important part of a larger team. You have a natural ability to make complex relationships understandable – whether you are presenting financial analyses or explaining technical and economic connections to different parts of the organization, you do it in a clear and engaging way that creates understanding and trust.
What is it like to work with us?
Your immediate manager, Caroline Schönström, leads her team with openness and trust. She is committed to giving you great confidence and freedom to drive your own work forward but is always there as support when you need it. You will also be part of our national EIS-controlling team where you actively share experiences and best practices with colleagues in Stockholm, Örebro, Malmö, and Norrköping. Together, we work to create the most optimized and smooth financial governance possible.
Warm welcome to apply and join us on the journey towards a sustainable society! The application deadline is January 9.
The position is security classified, which means a security clearance will be conducted before employment.
