Operations Technician for the Housing Unit - Temporary Position

Your New Job

As an operations technician within social services, Jönköping municipality, you will be responsible for addressing and reporting faults in some of our municipally owned houses.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Inspecting apartments
• Documentation in the operational system Pondus
• Supervision and basic technical maintenance of our houses
• Fault reporting, troubleshooting, and minor repairs
• Coordination of service efforts with external contractors
• Support to the operations in practical matters on a daily basis

You will work together with a colleague, and you will primarily work in pairs throughout the day. The starting point for your work is our warehouse in Norrahammar. The work is varied, and for most of the day, you will be out in our various houses, visiting our tenants. You will have continuous contact with partners both within and outside the municipality, primarily with various companies that provide different types of construction services. Within the municipality, you will mainly interact with the technical office and various functions within social services. You and your partner are a natural part of the Housing Unit and work together with our housing consultants.

In this role, you will have many meetings with individual tenants who sometimes find themselves in difficult situations.

Your Qualifications

You who are applying for the position have:

• At least a three-year high school education with a technical focus
• Vocational training with a focus on property and operations
• HVAC and property program
• Alternatively, a similar education that the employer considers equivalent for the position

If you have a technical post-secondary education and experience in property maintenance, it is a merit.

The role requires both practical and technical competence, the ability to solve problems quickly, and a service-oriented attitude, as the work often takes place close to tenants. Therefore, you need to have some experience in meeting people in various situations, and it is important that you have a genuine interest in working with the individuals our operations target.

Furthermore, you are a secure and stable person, social, helpful, and self-driven. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability in the recruitment process. The Housing Unit rents out apartments in second-hand through so-called "social housing contracts" to individuals who cannot obtain their own primary lease. As a Housing Consultant, your task is to work towards the tenant being able to obtain their own primary lease. This can happen either by the tenant taking over the contract or by finding their own housing. The target group for the operation is individuals who come into contact with social services and have received an assessed assistance effort in the form of housing. Individuals currently come from various sections within social services; financial assistance, substance abuse, disability care, children, and youth. Your mission as an Operations Technician is to address or report faults in our municipally owned houses where tenants often have active substance abuse and sometimes mental health issues.

The Housing Unit is located within Social Services in the Individual and Family Care area under adult services. We are 11 housing consultants, 1 administrator, 2 operations technicians, and 1 coordinator.

Good to Know

In this recruitment, one (1) temporary position for 6 months will be filled with the possibility of extension. Start date will be agreed upon. Working hours are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday.
