As a school librarian, you are a key person in the students' learning.

You turn the library into a vibrant meeting place where students receive support to find the right information, develop critical thinking, and strengthen their reading skills. Together with teachers, you work to spark curiosity and create conditions for learning in all subjects.

Your tasks:

• Be responsible for the school's library operations and create a safe, inspiring environment.
• Support students and teachers with critical thinking and media and information literacy (MIL).
• Promote reading and contribute to students' achievement of goals.
• Manage the purchase and administration of media.
• Collaborate closely with educators – both in the library and in the classroom.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a degree in library and information science or equivalent education.
• Is creative, pedagogical, and solution-focused.
• Has good IT skills and enjoys exploring new technology.
• Is comfortable planning your work but is flexible when the day brings surprises.
• Communicates clearly and collaborates easily.

Other

The position includes 50% at Linnéskolan and 25% at Röinge school.

About us

The Department of Children and Education is responsible for the municipality's preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, adapted schools, and cultural schools. We work together for a learning environment where children, students, and employees succeed and can be their best. The department's mission is to coordinate, plan, and support the various operations and work for coordination between school and working life.

Linnéskolan consists of both a school for grades F-9 and after-school activities for students up to grade 6. The school has about 400 students. The school is beautifully located within walking distance from the train station, making commuting by bus/train possible.
