Norrhälsinge Rescue Service Works for a Safe and Secure Community

Our main missions involve participating in community planning for satisfactory protection. We work to create conditions for property owners/holders to prevent the occurrence of fires and minimize the consequences of fire. We also provide information and hold annual training on fire safety. We provide resources for life-saving and damage-limiting measures and coordinate the municipality's work in preparation for extraordinary events and heightened readiness. We also work to prevent, mitigate, and limit accidents caused by flammable or explosive materials.

Job Responsibilities

When you work as a summer substitute with us as a full-time firefighter, you will be part of the emergency response team and also perform daily work at the fire station. Your duties as a firefighter in emergency service can be very varied, ranging from high altitudes, traffic accidents, fires, and other incidents where there is a need for assistance. Daily tasks include exercises and maintenance of equipment. During the main vacation period from June to August, we apply round-the-clock duty with occasional day shifts.

Your Profile

You must be approved in one of the following training programs for summer substitutes:

• SMO training or two semesters of SMO
• Rescue Operations/GRIB
• 15 weeks firefighter training
• Certified smoke diver

Certification for approved employment test on a treadmill according to AFS requirements (4.5) must be attached to the application, and the test must not be older than 3 months. You must also have completed the Guldbojen with approved results. The certificate must be attached to the application and must not be older than one year.

The following are meritorious:

• Category C driver's license
• Experience in rescue services
• Knowledge in healthcare
• Pedagogical work
• Practical work experience
• Good computer skills

We are looking for someone who has the interest, willingness, and ability to help others. Qualities we particularly value are responsibility, flexibility, problem-solving ability, and the ability to work in a team. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Admission tests and interviews are planned for February 17 and 18, 2026.
