Your Mission

We are looking for a responsible and service-oriented lifeguard.

As a lifeguard, you will be a central part of the operation and play a key role in providing our visitors with a safe and pleasant experience. We prefer that you are a stable person with good collaborative skills, who can communicate well, ensure that safety regulations are followed, and contribute to maintaining a high standard of service, maintenance, and cleanliness to create a pleasant environment in the facility.

Your tasks will include:

• Supervision of swimming activities
• Swimming instruction
• Customer service
• Sales
• Water purification
• Cleaning

You should be able to inform visitors about risks, work preventively against accidents, and provide first aid in case of incidents. You should also be able to handle situations that require life-saving measures. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment with physically demanding tasks, where you need to remain calm and act steadily in unexpected situations.

Workplace Description

Aquarena is part of the Sports and Leisure unit, located in the Hällåsen recreational area in Söderhamn. The Sports and Leisure unit is part of Söderhamn Municipality, Community Services sector. In the Community Services sector, the activities and competencies that have the greatest impact on actively promoting sustainable community development, providing the municipality's technical expertise, and developing good living environments are gathered. Internal services, citizen services, and operational community building are the areas of activity within the sector. Here, over 800 employees work in areas such as food services, cleaning, staffing, carpooling, sports and leisure, customer service, regulatory enforcement, detailed planning, and project management.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a lifeguard education at a post-secondary level, or a high school education focused on leisure and swimming, as well as swimming instructor training and pool lifeguard training, or other education and experience deemed equivalent by the employer.

Experience and education to instruct swimming schools for children and adults, as well as group training in water, are advantageous, as is experience and education in water purification and pool maintenance.

Good swimming skills are a fundamental requirement. You should be able to dive to a depth of 3.8 meters and be able to complete a lifeguard test equivalent to the Gold Buoy.

If you are contacted for an interview, you must be able to present an extract from the criminal record to take the swimming test.

As the job involves certain administrative tasks, good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing, as well as good computer skills, are required.

We also prefer that you have a B driver's license.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
