Be part of building the future of psychiatry. In April 2021, we moved into our new psychiatric hospital, where we are now broadening our expertise and gathering more specialties under one roof. The inpatient care consists of three different wards; 30A - acute psychiatric care and intensive care (PIVA), 30B - addiction center, and 40C - general psychiatric care. We also have an emergency department open 24/7, ECT department, Esketamine department, LARO department (medication-assisted treatment for opioid dependence), and a regional unit for eating disorders that provides day care/outpatient care. The inpatient care has the task of offering qualified diagnostics, treatment, and specific and psychiatric nursing in round-the-clock care. The assignment also includes collaborating with care neighbors such as outpatient care, the municipality, addiction care, and primary care. On the ward, nurses, caregivers, occupational therapists, psychotherapists, and doctors work in teams together with the patient. We actively work to reduce coercion in care and to prevent threats and violence.

We are looking for

We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant - caregiver with good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. We prefer that you have studied 200 credits in psychiatry (psychiatry 2/psychiatry B). It is an advantage if you have experience as a caregiver in psychiatric care. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities.

This is what you will work with

Psychiatric nursing is the focus, and we work with case management to strengthen the relationship with the patient and promote person-centered care. As a nursing assistant/caregiver, you are responsible for observations, parameter checks, sampling, ADL assistance, and other support through conversations and contact with relatives. You will play an important role in planning together with the patient and your care team. Documentation is an obvious part of the work, as well as being involved in the development of nursing work on the ward. The role also includes mentoring caregiver students. We are looking for staff for inpatient psychiatry, acute/general/addiction wards.

Information about the position

We offer you a permanent full-time position with working hours scheduled for days, evenings, and weekend shifts. Start date according to agreement. Region Norrbotten applies individual salary setting according to collective agreement.
