JOB DESCRIPTION

Drottningskär's fortress on Aspö is looking for tourist hosts for the summer of 2026!

Now you have the chance to share your knowledge and good mood with Karlskrona's visitors in a unique historical environment. We promise you many pleasant meetings, laughter, and a daily routine with varied tasks at Drottningskär's Fortress.

As a tourist host, you are the face of the fortress and responsible for the important hospitality towards visitors on Aspö. Your work includes informing about what the fortress as a destination can offer, as well as ensuring that the destination looks neat and tidy. Knowledge of our local area and Swedish history is a plus, but the most important thing is that you have the willingness to learn, are easy to approach, and want to help visitors have a great experience at Drottningskär's fortress. Hosts at the fortress are often dressed in historical costumes and are encouraged to actively contribute to creating a lively historical destination that tells the story of the place. The work is very much teamwork, but you also need to be able to work independently.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Is service-oriented and shows genuine interest in customers and their inquiries.
• Has great social competence and takes significant personal responsibility.
• Is curious and solution-oriented.
• Can handle a workday that includes some heavier lifting.
• Speaks fluent Swedish and English (German, Polish, or other languages are a plus).
• Ideally has experience from the visitor/tourism industry or service work.
• Experience in acting/drama is a plus.

Employment

During the high season, the fortress is open 7 days a week, which means there will be weekend and evening work. Since the job involves cash handling, you need to be over 18 years old.
