About Us

Sörmland Museum is located in Nyköping and operates throughout Sörmland. With history, crafts, and visual arts, we aim to broaden perspectives, spark engagement, and contribute to people influencing society and their own life situations. Our activities include exhibitions, programs, courses, advice, and cultural heritage assignments, as well as the collection and management of the museum's collections. Sörmland Museum is managed by Region Sörmland.

We are now looking for a curator to work with cultural heritage and building conservation. At Sörmland Museum, you will work in a creative and dynamic environment where we strive together to make it possible for everyone to experience culture in various forms. We are about 50 people who are passionate about the power of culture in society.

In the unit for cultural heritage, crafts, and visual arts, the tasks include providing subject knowledge and curatorial expertise in exhibition projects and programs, offering advice and assistance with knowledge in cultural heritage, building conservation, crafts, and archaeology, conducting courses in crafts, building conservation, and visual arts, carrying out various forms of cultural heritage assignments, and assisting with promotion activities, business development, and support for professional practitioners in crafts, visual arts, and design.

Your Responsibilities

• Work on curatorial assignments.
• Advising the public on building conservation issues and handling building matters in the form of referrals from municipalities and county administrative boards.
• Work with outreach and public activities in the field of cultural heritage, e.g., courses.

Your Qualifications

• Degree from a building conservation program of 180 credits or equivalent education.
• Certified expert regarding cultural values (KUL).
• Experience working as a building conservator.
• Experience and willingness for outreach/pedagogical work.
• Driver's license (B).
