Job Opening for a Doctor at Försvarshälsan
Försvarshälsan is expanding its medical team with an additional doctor to meet the needs of an increasing number of conscripts and employees in a growing authority.
Försvarshälsan is our internal occupational health service. We provide occupational health care for employees as well as health and medical care, including daily medical care for conscripts during basic training. Our mission is to support I 21 with defense medical capability and continuously work on developing goals and methods to support the operations. The work is based on all three health perspectives: promoting, preventive, and rehabilitative.
You will work in a multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, physiotherapists, medical secretaries, occupational safety engineers, psychologists, doctors, and managers.

About the Position
We are in a phase where we are building and developing our working methods, and therefore the opportunities to influence are significant. This requires initiative from you as an employee.

You will encounter both military and civilian personnel, and the doctor is a central resource in Försvarshälsan's medical mission.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct fitness assessments before employment and overseas service.
- Perform statutory medical checks and issue certificates.
- Provide medical interventions at the primary care level for total defense conscripts, sometimes under field conditions.
- Health-promoting initiatives: work is conducted at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
- Work-life-oriented rehabilitation measures.
Requirements
We are looking for a licensed doctor with specialist training in, for example, general medicine, occupational medicine, or other relevant specialist competencies.
- Specialist with at least three years of clinical experience in your specialty area.
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
- Driver's license, at least B manual.

Meritorious
- Experience working within the Armed Forces.
- Experience in general medicine, occupational health care, and emergency care.
- Experience in working on and independently driving projects and conducting training.
- Completed military service or previous experience of service within the Armed Forces, and/or overseas service.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Other
Employment: Permanent position starting with a 6-month probationary period.
Location: Sollefteå. You will also work in Östersund. Service in other locations may occur.
Employment rate: Full-time
Working hours: 40 hours/week. Most of the working hours will be scheduled during daytime Monday to Friday, but service at other times may occur.
Internal training and travel in the service occur regularly.
Start date: As soon as possible

In 2022, the Västernorrland Regiment was re-established with the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, I 21. A new regiment with centuries-old traditions in Västernorrland and Jämtland. With us, you have the opportunity to be part of something unique, the re-establishment of a regiment in Lower Norrland.
I 21 currently operates in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand and is responsible for the Garrison Lower Norrland. In Sollefteå, there is the Regiment Staff (with personnel in both Sollefteå and Östersund) and the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion. In Östersund, there is the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps. In addition, there are Garrison Support Unit, Försvarshälsa, and Logistics Unit operating in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand.
At the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion and Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, we train conscript soldiers for service in the new modern infantry under our proud motto “From mountains to sea, for the defense of Lower Norrland.”
