The Social Administration of the City of Stockholm has an overarching and coordinating role for social services' individual and family care and disability services. Here, good conditions are created to meet residents in need of social services support. In close collaboration with the district administrations, we contribute to a modern, digital, legally secure, equal, and knowledge-based social service, and we have a strong focus on development. Within the administration, a wide range of support measures are offered to the city's residents, and the offerings change based on the needs of Stockholmers and the wishes of the district administrations. The work often takes place in close cooperation with other authorities, civil society, and the business community. The Social Administration is also responsible for the city's serving and tobacco permits and conducts supervision.

Gamlebo is a care and nursing home with drug tolerance for the elderly with care needs related to hygiene, assistance, and medication.

We are looking for substitutes

We are looking for substitutes to step in as needed during absences in the operation. We are located in Svedmyra, which is close to the subway.

Your role

In this role, you are an important part of our team where you provide support and care to elderly individuals with addiction, mental health issues, and care needs. Your work involves:

• Creating safety and good relationships with the residents.
• Providing high-quality care based on individual needs, focusing on health and well-being. For example, care during diaper changes, stoma care, showering, and dressing.
• Using your empathetic ability to meet both physical and mental challenges.
• Providing support in daily activities and social interactions.
• Working with harm reduction and encouraging participation and self-determination.
• Documenting and following up on planned interventions together with colleagues and nurses.

We value that you have a genuine desire to work with the target group and understand their needs, especially regarding addiction, elderly care, and mental health issues. You can act professionally, with a low-arousal approach, and have good judgment in challenging situations.

Your competence and experience

Basic requirements:

• Certified nursing assistant education or other equivalent education or experience.
• Experience working with elderly individuals and individuals with mental health issues or addiction problems.
• Good experience in caregiving.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, to document and communicate with residents and colleagues.
• Experience with documentation in care systems.

Meritorious:

• Competence in harm reduction or motivational work.
• Experience working in teams and in close collaboration with other professional groups.
• Certification or further education in areas such as mental health, addiction care, or comorbidity.

As a certified nursing assistant, you must be able to present a valid license from the National Board of Health and Welfare. Without a valid license, your job title will be assessed as a care assistant.
