Description

We are now looking for summer substitutes for Älvkarleby Municipality's disability care – a meaningful job where you make a difference in people's everyday lives.

With us, you will have the opportunity to work closely with people, build relationships, and help create security, joy, and development.

The disability care consists of several different services, such as group homes, daily activities, personal support, housing support, and short-term accommodation for children and young people. Together, we are about 35 dedicated employees who do our best every day to support individuals based on their own needs and circumstances.

Job Responsibilities

As a summer substitute in our disability care, you will play an important role in creating a meaningful everyday life for people with various disabilities. The work may involve everything from providing support in daily tasks, accompanying activities, assisting with communication and participation, or providing support in personal care. The work also varies depending on which area you work in.

No day is the same – and that makes the work both fun and developing. You will have the opportunity to use your creativity and engagement to contribute to safety and quality of life for those you meet. You will work closely with colleagues who are happy to share their experiences and are always there if you need advice or support.

The working hours vary, and there may be night work as well as on-call duties. The work may also be performed within different types of services.

Qualifications

It is important that you enjoy meeting, supporting, and helping other people. Being attentive, humble, and having respect for the equal value of all people are important qualities. The work includes communication and documentation. Therefore, you need to be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written, and be accustomed to using a computer.

We are looking for someone who is caring, attentive, and has a genuine interest in people. You should be able to collaborate easily but can also take responsibility and be confident in making decisions based on the situation.

Previous experience in disability care or education in the field is an advantage. With us, you will, of course, receive an introduction and guidance so that you feel secure in your role.

The work involves day, evening, and weekend shifts, and in some services, there may also be night and on-call duties. We hope you can work most of the summer so that both you and the service can have continuity.

Since the work may involve working alone, we are looking for someone who is secure, independent, and meticulous. You are calm, kind-hearted, and have a professional attitude. You put the user at the center, are responsible, and have good collaboration skills. The work can be physically demanding, so it is important that you have good physical ability.

Meritorious education for work in disability care includes:

• Care program
• Child and leisure program
• Support pedagogical education
• Special pedagogical education

We also prefer that you have a B driver's license; in some services, this is also a requirement.

For work within Älvkarleby Municipality's care services, a criminal record extract is required.

Valid ID and right to work in Sweden
To work in Älvkarleby Municipality, you need to show a valid ID where your citizenship is stated. In some cases, you may also need to show a document that proves you have the right to work in Sweden. If you are offered employment, you must be able to show one of the following:
- Passport
- Driver's license
- SIS-marked ID card along with a personal certificate where citizenship is stated,
- Other valid ID where citizenship is clearly indicated.
