Description

We are now looking for summer substitutes for Älvkarleby Municipality's personal assistance, where you will have the opportunity to work in a stimulating and meaningful role where you can truly make a difference in people's lives.

Personal assistance is fundamentally about commitment to another person who needs help and support with various aspects of daily life.

Within Älvkarleby Municipality's personal assistance, approximately 40 personal assistants work to be there for our clients regardless of the time of day. Our personal assistance is divided into two different units, and together we work throughout the municipality.

Job Duties

In personal assistance, you work closely with our clients, providing assistance with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, transfers, cooking, training, maintaining a home, and activities. As a personal assistant, you provide support and help the client create structure & security in their daily life.

Working hours vary, and there may be night work as well as on-call duties. The work may also be performed for several different clients. Working in personal assistance often involves working alone. It also means that you will often work in the client's own home. There are both child and adult cases, and in cases where you work with children, you will work closely with families and guardians.

Your duties will also include performing social documentation and participating in the establishment of individual care plans.

In the work, walking, driving, and cycling may be relevant modes of transport.

Qualifications

It is important that you enjoy meeting, supporting, and helping other people. Being attentive, humble, and respectful of all people's equal value are important qualities. The work includes communication and documentation. Therefore, you need to be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written, and be accustomed to using a computer. Knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to SFI course D is required.

Since the work often involves working alone, we are looking for someone who is secure, independent, and meticulous. You are calm, kind-hearted, and have a professional attitude. You put the client at the center, are responsible, and have good collaboration skills. The work as a personal assistant can be physically demanding, so it is important that you have good physical ability.

If you have studied in the Nursing Program or have other education and experience that we consider equivalent, this is meritorious.

A driver's license is meritorious; in some assistance cases, it is also a requirement.

The work involves day, evening, and weekend shifts, and in some operations, also night shifts. We would like you to be able to work most of the summer, so that both you and the operation can have continuity.

For work within Älvkarleby Municipality's care services, a criminal record extract is required.

Valid ID and Right to Work in Sweden

To work in Älvkarleby Municipality, you need to be able to present a valid ID that shows your citizenship. In some cases, you may also need to show a document that proves you have the right to work in Sweden. If you are offered employment, you must be able to present one of the following:

• Driver's license
• SIS-marked ID card together with a personal certificate showing citizenship
• Other valid ID where citizenship is clearly stated
