About the position

The orthopedic surgery at New Karolinska Solna (NKS) primarily conducts advanced and extensive orthopedics. We have both acute and elective flows with everything from the multi-injured intensive care patient, major and minor tumor surgery, spinal surgery, deformity surgery, and orthopedics for patients with special medical conditions.

The clinical work often involves challenges where several aspects of anesthesia need to be considered, for example, during surgeries on multi-sick or unstable patients. The opportunities for learning and development within the profession are very large.

We work in teams where everyone helps each other, and we have a wonderful and familial atmosphere among nursing assistants, nurses, anesthesiologists, and orthopedic surgeons. As an employee with us, you will have your own areas of responsibility and can participate in working groups that contribute to the development of the organization. There is also the possibility to occasionally rotate to other units if desired.

We apply fixed schedules but are of course open to individual needs. From Monday to Thursday, the unit is staffed until 19:00, Fridays until 16:00, and on weekends until 16:30 (even on public holidays).

As we are a university hospital, supervision of students and new colleagues is a natural part of the job.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Licensed nurse with specialized education in anesthesia care

Meritorious:

• Experience as an anesthesia nurse
• Supervisor training
