Nurse for Ward 19 at Södertälje Hospital

Do you want to work in a healthcare area that focuses on nursing with close collaboration where flexibility and openness are valued? We are a large healthcare area that gives you the opportunity to further develop your skills, and you may have the chance to try out more of our different care areas.

VO Care represented Södertälje Hospital in the Magnet4Europe study, and we are now continuing to work with the magnet model to enable a good work environment and nursing development.

With us, nursing assistants and nurses work together, and the healthcare area is also led by nurses. We provide care in several different areas such as internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, geriatrics, and palliative care. We are a total of 360 people distributed over nine wards and ASIH, currently having 173 care places.

Are you interested in emergency care and want to be part of a team that works in a fast-paced and dynamic environment? In our ward, we combine orthopedics, urology, and 6 places within AVA, which is currently run as a project in our department.

Here we work in teams with nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, doctors, and the discharge team. We have clear routines and a well-functioning working method that allows us to provide high-quality care and create a good working environment. With us, you will have a varied workday and the opportunity to develop both in your professional role and by contributing to the unit's development work.

In our ward, we care for patients in orthopedics, urology, and elective surgery. In the orthopedic flow, we treat patients with fractures, among others. In urology, we handle acute cases such as hematuria and urinary tract infections. We also have a significant amount of elective surgery, where patients undergo planned operations in orthopedics and urology. The ward has a total of 24 care places, of which 6 are specifically designated for patients who need intensive and rapid emergency care for a short time, up to 48 hours. This part of the operation involves a high pace and variation in tasks, where you will have the opportunity to work with patients from various medical areas, including orthopedics, urology, gynecology, medicine, and surgery.

For us, it is important that you feel secure in your role; therefore, we offer an individualized onboarding process to give you the best start in your new position. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will receive a secure introduction and guidance, as well as a mentor who supports you during your first time in the department. You will also have the opportunity to participate in our program for newly graduated nurses, which combines skills training, lectures, and group discussions.
