Senior Designer at HIAK – Concept Development with Customer Focus

HIAK has been developing and marketing products for noise reduction and sound insulation since 1947. The first product developed was a mobile sound damper used for functional testing of the first Swedish military jet aircraft. The result was successful and laid the foundation for the knowledge and experience needed to develop industrial sound attenuation for various applications. HIAK has a unique ability to develop new solutions and products for optimized sound attenuation. Over the years, we have worked with a comprehensive portfolio of applications and solutions for the process industry, manufacturing industry, and construction sector. Additionally, we have developed enclosures and sound dampers for gas turbines, steam turbines, the energy sector, and the aerospace industry. We also have deep knowledge of the manufacturing processes of the products included in our solutions. The Position

In this role, you will be a central part of our engineering team, where you will be responsible for design and technical development in close collaboration with our customers. You will act as an advisory expert in everything from specific design issues to larger product development projects. Your work is characterized by long-term relationships, technical depth, and a clear customer focus – while also driving your own initiatives and development ideas forward.

Experience

We are looking for someone with at least ten years of experience in design or steel construction, preferably in project-oriented organizations. You have a strong technical foundation and have developed the ability to translate technology into solutions that work both practically and commercially over time.

You are an educated civil or engineering graduate with a focus on construction or mechanics. You have experience with welded steel structures or machine design. Your English skills are good, both spoken and written, and you are accustomed to working in technically advanced project environments.

If you also have expertise in acoustics, vibration, or fluid mechanics, that is a significant plus. Experience in project management, leadership training, or working in project-oriented organizations is also seen as an advantage.

You are confident in your professional role and have good leadership skills – whether it involves leading a project team, a customer dialogue, or a technical solution.
