Maintenance Manager KBR – Outokumpu Avesta

We are now looking for a Maintenance Manager to join our team in Avesta, who wants to take overall responsibility for the maintenance operations within KBR (annealing, pickling, acid recovery, cold rolling, and finishing).

In this central leadership role, you will drive efforts to ensure the facility's functionality - availability, efficiency, and safety in production. You will lead and develop an engaged team and actively contribute to creating a culture of continuous improvement.

Your main responsibilities

As a Maintenance Manager, you will:

  • Plan, lead, and follow up all maintenance work within your area of responsibility to optimize production results.
  • Collaborate with functions such as production, logistics, engineering, and quality to coordinate maintenance with the business objectives.
  • Plan and prioritize maintenance and production stops to minimize disruptions and maximize availability.
  • Be responsible for a team of approximately 30 employees, consisting of both unionized and salaried staff.
  • Lead and develop multi-shift teams, set clear goals, and create engagement, accountability, and team spirit.
  • Be an important part of the KBR management team.
  • Plan, initiate, and follow up on investment and improvement projects.
  • Ensure that work is conducted in accordance with Outokumpu's code of conduct, legislation, policies, and management systems.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new working methods, routines, and improvement initiatives within the maintenance area.

Who are you?

We are looking for a clear and inspiring leader with technical competence, business acumen, and a strong desire to drive improvements. You have a degree in mechanical or industrial engineering and documented leadership experience from manufacturing or process industry. Experience from heavy industry is an advantage. You have a good understanding of modern principles of Operations Management, such as Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma, as well as experience working in multicultural environments. Leadership training is a plus.

As a person, you are structured, results-oriented, and solution-focused. You are proactive and innovative with the ability to think both strategically and long-term. You thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously without losing focus on the big picture. You are a communicative and present leader who inspires and engages your employees. At the same time, you are unpretentious, flexible, and quality-conscious, contributing to a positive team spirit and having a genuine commitment to people.

Since you will be working in an environment with both Swedish and international contacts, you need to express yourself very well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have good knowledge of English to communicate smoothly in a global organization.

In this role, we offer a salary between 51,000 – 65,000 SEK/month, based on factors such as education, experience, competence, and geographical location.
