About the workplace

Our stroke care is conducted from a strong acute perspective where thrombolytic treatment is offered around the clock. Our nurses and nursing assistants are part of the emergency chain for Save the Brain.

In 2023, a mobile team, called Supported Discharge, was reintroduced for continued rehabilitation at home in collaboration with paramedicine.

In our neurology care, we assess, treat, and care for patients with various neurological conditions. Common diagnoses include Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Epilepsy, ALS, and brain tumors. We have a close collaboration with the Neurosurgery department at SU, from which we often receive newly operated patients.

About the position

Our work is characterized by teamwork with nurses, doctors, nursing assistants, speech therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers. Our patients may have complex medical conditions and require a multiprofessional approach. As a person, you are independent with a strong sense of responsibility, innovative, and driven for development. Our unit is characterized by high competence, quality, development, openness, and community!

We offer further education in neurology and stroke care as part of professional development based on the experience you bring as a nurse. Thrombolysis training, Stroke Needle, and assignment training in Neurology and Stroke. We also have ongoing lectures/trainings within our unit.

All nurses who start in the organization receive a mentor during their first year. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of a clinical foundation year. You have the opportunity to influence your schedule.
