Development-oriented Nurse Wanted for Ward 4

The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

We are now looking for a development-oriented nurse for our growing department with the startup of AVA beds. Our mission has expanded, and we need more nurses who want to help build a workplace where both job satisfaction and quality are at the center.

Your New Workplace

Ward 4 is in an exciting development phase, currently having 16 care beds focused on internal medicine, but is planned to grow to 24 care beds based on the need to care for patients with short hospital stays – AVA (Acute Care Unit). This means a fast-paced environment with many admissions and discharges and a diverse patient group. The work on the ward is therefore knowledge-intensive, developing, and exciting. We work in teams consisting of doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants, and everyone is involved in person-centered care – together we create value for our patients.

When you start working in Ward 4, you will be offered to work in new, fresh, and adapted facilities. The patients cared for here have single rooms with their own toilet and shower. Each team is stationed at its own team station with an associated round room. We also work with patient investigations in a daytime module for those who do not need to stay overnight in the ward.

About You

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with person-centered care, is motivated by improvement work, and wants to create and develop our ward and our working methods. You should be good at collaborating with others and want to be part of our wonderful team where we together drive the operation forward.

Qualifications

You must be a licensed nurse, and it is highly meritorious if you have previous experience from a medical ward.

For us, it is important that you are driven by the desire to be involved in developing the care/unit with the patient at the center, as well as actively sharing your knowledge with colleagues and equally curiously learning from your colleagues' expertise.

We Offer You

Our introduction program lasts 4-5 weeks with regular check-ins with the unit manager. Your introduction will be tailored to your experience and any needs that arise. We have regular shorter lectures in the Medicine department.

Clinical Foundation Year

For you who are a newly graduated nurse/radiology nurse, a Clinical Foundation Year is included during the first year of your permanent employment. The Clinical Foundation Year includes lectures, process-oriented nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. It also includes shadowing in other departments to give you a broader understanding of the hospital where you work. This is an initiative to give you the opportunity to further develop in your profession and build your professional identity.
