As a security guard at Avarn Security, you have a crucial societal role in protecting and monitoring security objects according to the Protection Act.

A security guard's task is to monitor security objects and protect against sabotage, espionage, terrorist acts, and armed robbery. A security guard has special powers to inspect vehicles, conduct body searches, seize items, dismiss and detain individuals present at a security object. Security objects are operations that are vital for society to function in peace, crisis, or war. Examples of security objects include a nuclear power plant, an airport, or a military facility.

Working hours: Varying hours day and night

Workplace: SAAB Kockums Karlskrona

Duration: June-August with the possibility of on-call employment before and after summer 2026

Job responsibilities: As a security guard, you will work in various environments with varying tasks such as staffing entrance receptions, ensuring that no unauthorized persons gain access to the security object, and stationary and patrolling surveillance. This applies to both armed and unarmed services.

Qualities we are looking for: You want to work in a safety-creating role and have a natural ability to combine service with a pronounced security mindset. You are meticulous and structured in your work approach as there may be some administrative tasks involved. We are looking for security-conscious and service-oriented employees with inner security, maturity, and a natural drive to help. Great emphasis is placed on communication and collaboration skills, as this role involves a lot of contact with customers, contractors, and visitors. Personal qualities are what determine the best fit for the assignment. We place great importance on your ability to work in a team but also expect you to independently identify and solve problems. You have a positive attitude towards your work and the ability to spread positive energy in a team.

Requirements for applicants:

• In addition to the personal qualities we seek and describe in the various assignments, you need to meet basic requirements to qualify for the position:

• at least 18 years old before starting the assignment
• high school diploma
• good Swedish in speech and writing
• driver's license B

You also need to be unpunished*, drug-free, have an orderly economy, and good health and fitness to be employed by Avarn Security.

Desirable qualifications:

• guard training (VU1 + VU2)
• weapon training
• previous experience in a service profession
• civil security guard training (or military security guard training**, completed from 2020 or later)

If you have security guard training through the Armed Forces without military basic training, you need to complete a shortened security guard training to work as a civilian security guard.
