About the position

In the Intensive Care Unit, we receive patients of all ages (including very young children) from the hospital's various clinics and acute patients requiring intensive care interventions. Our largest patient categories are those with severe infections and those who have undergone various surgical procedures such as transplantation surgery.

We work in interprofessional teams around the patient with a well-developed collaboration between doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants. Since we are a department in a university hospital, in addition to providing the best healthcare to our patients, we also conduct education and research aimed at improving and developing care.

You will come into contact with several different patient groups whose length of stay can vary from a few hours to several weeks. This makes both the tasks and the pace of work very varied, which will give you a deepened and broad competence in several areas.

You will be employed as an intensive care nurse under the 24/7 agreement with a 20% assignment as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for 2 years together with a colleague. There is a possibility for extension. During the summer weeks (W.24-W.34), you will work clinically. You will report directly to the nursing manager.

AKA assignment:

As an AKA, you are responsible for organizing, planning, and leading the work with students in the department. You work for a good work environment and collaboration between students, supervisors, and staff. This occurs in close contact with your AKA colleague Anders, staffing assistants, and nursing managers.

You are expected to be a role model in accordance with the hospital's values; responsibility, compassion, and holistic view.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Specialist nurse in intensive care with at least a master's degree
• At least three years of experience as an intensive care nurse
• Mentoring 7.5 credits.

Meritorious:

• Previous experience working with students and mentoring.
