About the Department

Department 10/23 is a neurosurgical department that provides highly specialized care for children and adults in the Västra Götaland region and parts of Halland region. We provide 21 care beds, three NIMA (intermediate) beds, and three NUVA beds (postoperative recovery).

The department provides both elective and emergency care, treating patients with diseases of the brain and spinal cord such as tumors, hemorrhages, vascular malformations, epilepsy, and acute head injuries. Department 10/23 belongs to the Neurosurgery area, which is divided into four sections: neurosurgery, neurology, rehabilitation medicine, and neurophysiology.

We are now looking for two nursing assistants to expand our team!

What do we offer?

Our introduction program spans four weeks, and you will have frequent check-ins with the department's section leader during your initial period. Your introduction will be tailored to your experience and any needs that arise. You will have time set aside with one of our specialist nurses for delegations, as well as the opportunity to participate in an operation.

We regularly have lectures combined with skills-enhancing workshops in the department.

There are good opportunities for internal skills development and a varied job as you will have the chance to work in the pre-operative admission unit alongside the care department. There is also the possibility to be introduced to NIMA neuro-intermediate care and NUVA neurosurgical postoperative monitoring when you feel ready to develop further. This variation is a valued part of the job.

We apply individual schedule planning and work two weekends out of five.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who wants to work in a team where you will be well taken care of as a new colleague. You will be welcomed by a positive group in a workplace characterized by laughter, good atmosphere, and open communication. No day is the same, and you will learn something new every day, regardless of previous experience.

You will have the opportunity to work and learn a broad spectrum within healthcare as the department has a varied patient group in terms of age, medical history, and background. You will care for both adult patients and children, those who are acutely ill and those who are admitted for planned procedures or treatments. As a nursing assistant, you will care for patients pre- and postoperatively and work in a team with a nurse. The work requires personal maturity and clarity in communication with patients, relatives, and colleagues.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant. Experience in caring for children or experience in postoperative monitoring is a bonus! You have the ability to convey calm and safety, take responsibility for tasks, and have good prioritization skills. As a person, you enjoy collaborating, see the team as an important part of the work, and like to work in a sometimes fast-paced environment with high flow and varied care times. You are empathetic and have a good approach. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities. Recruitment is ongoing.
