Lighting Engineer for Karlskrona Municipality

The Operations and Service Administration provides Karlskrona Municipality with essential community services and internal services to the municipality's administrations. The Street/Park Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's streets, lighting, parks, traffic, investment projects, as well as swimming and playgrounds, among others.

We are now looking for a lighting engineer for our street/traffic unit. We offer an inspiring and developing role with great variety, where you will work with complex and challenging issues. As a lighting engineer, you will have overall responsibility for the municipality's street lighting – from planning and operation to development and improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In the coming years, Karlskrona Municipality will face extensive investments in our lighting installations. As a lighting engineer with us, you will lead this work together with your two colleagues.

Your assignment includes driving investment projects for the municipality's street lighting, focusing on developing cost-effective and sustainable long-term solutions, as well as ensuring proper documentation throughout the process. Each sub-project should contribute to a whole where our lighting installations meet the applicable functional and documentation requirements.

The role is broad and also includes tasks related to procurement, investigation, design, documentation, and modernization of existing lighting installations. You need to be prepared to develop your own routines to ensure a sustainable working method. The position is part of our emergency preparedness organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with great commitment and knowledge of lighting issues. You have strong collaboration skills and are used to structuring, planning, and following up on work. Since you will have contacts with the public, consultants, contractors, authorities, and politicians, we expect you to express yourself well in both speech and writing. Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements

• You are an educated lighting designer, preparer, or electrical designer, or you have equivalent work experience
• Experience working with lighting issues
• Driver's license B

Meritorious

• Experience in budgeting and financial follow-up
• Experience in leadership and emergency service duties
• Knowledge and experience in public procurement, GIS, and contract law
• Electrical authorization
