Medical Lead School Nurse (MLA) at Värmdö Municipality

Värmdö is the meeting place of the archipelago with a unique combination of the serene beauty of nature and a more urban lifestyle. Our mission is not one but many: schools, real estate, social services, harbors, healthcare, libraries, care, and many more. We strive to ensure that all residents of Värmdö can live a rich and free life. We want to be the ones who enable the dream of a vibrant and secure environment for homes, families, and businesses.

To succeed fully, we must have many and extensive competencies and work together for a common and trusting work culture, built on brave, responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of the residents.

Your Mission

Do you want to lead and develop the medical efforts of the student health services? We are looking for a Medical Lead School Nurse (MLA) who wants to make a difference in students' health and learning.

In Värmdö Municipality, there are 12 primary schools, two high schools, an adapted primary and high school, and a resource school. You will be the medical lead for a competent team with a good working climate, consisting of 13 school nurses and a school doctor. The school nurses report to the principals in their daily work, while the MLA has an overarching leadership responsibility for the medical efforts. With us, you will primarily work on health promotion and prevention, but also take action when needed – with the goal that all students achieve educational goals and gain increased life opportunities.

The position is located at Värmdö municipal office with good communication – the bus runs every ten minutes from Slussen and takes about 30 minutes. You will be employed within the central student health services at the Department of Governance and Quality. The central student health services consist of five school psychologists, a school doctor, an administrator, and a manager. The MLA and PLA work together with a special educator and a counselor in a cross-professional team that meets regularly with the operations manager and works on municipality-wide issues.

You will be part of an engaged team where safety and respect are central. As the operations manager, I care about your well-being at work – working hours are a significant part of life. I strive for participation and support and help solve challenges through open, reflective conversations. Here, you can fully utilize your skills and contribute to the development of student health services.

We are currently engaged in extensive development work within student health services. We drive municipality-wide initiatives that strengthen health promotion and preventive work – including positive behavior support, violence prevention, professional networks for all roles in student health, and a school social team that provides extra support to schools. Together, we create structures and working methods that make a real difference for students' health and learning.
