Frölundaskolan is a multicultural primary school with approximately 270 students from preschool class to grade 9, as well as an adapted primary school from grade 1 to 9.

Frölundaskolan is part of the South-West School Area 3 together with Slottsbergsskolan. The schools are located in southwestern Gothenburg, near Ruddalen and Frölunda Torg.

Responsibilities

We are now looking for a school nurse for Frölundaskolan and Frölundaskolan adapted primary school (AGR). Our working groups at the schools consist of staff from all professions in student health: psychologist, counselor, school nurse, special educator, and school doctor. As a school nurse, you work closely with the student health staff, school staff, and management to create the best possible conditions for the students' health, development, and learning based on your nursing competence. As a school nurse, you also collaborate with guardians and authorities outside the school.

You work preventively and health-promoting based on the governing documents in the Health and Medical Care Act, the Education Act, guidance for student health, and Gothenburg City’s Method Support for the medical efforts of student health. This includes health visits, health conversations, vaccinations, issues concerning students’ working environment, the school’s core values, and lifestyle-related health issues. You also have group activities as needed, as well as your own open reception and reception together with the school doctor.

The school principal has started a process to develop the student health team F-9 and clarify the processes and routines of student health. A major focus is to develop how we work together with educators for a more supportive approach. In this development work, you as a school nurse contribute based on your profession, focusing on students' learning.

You are part of a professional network for the other school nurses in the education area with regular meetings for quality development and support in the work, led by the medically responsible manager, MLA. School nurses in the network are also offered supervision and profession-specific competence development.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse with specialist training in health and medical care for children and adolescents, district nurse training, or further education focused on school nursing. If you have previously worked as a school nurse or have experience in health promotion work with children and adolescents, that is an advantage, but not a requirement. Experience working with PMO or equivalent data systems is also an advantage.

To succeed in your role, it is important that you have good collaboration skills, are responsible, and can prioritize your work based on the current situation. In addition to being confident in your professional role, you enjoy working with people. You have the ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and others you meet in your professional role. You have an open and positive attitude, as you have the student’s needs as the starting point for your actions.
