We are looking for an analytical and business-driven Bid Costing Manager for a long-term consulting assignment within the industrial and transport sector in Västerås. Here you will play a central role in developing competitive cost estimates for large and complex bids. You will work cross-functionally and have significant influence on the client's business opportunities.

About the role As a Bid Costing Manager, you will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and consolidating cost estimates in the various phases of the bidding process. You will work closely with Bid Managers, project leaders, engineering, finance, and procurement to ensure that proposals are developed in line with strategies, requirements, and goals. You will drive cost optimization, contribute to commercial decisions, and track cost data all the way from proposal to project start.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quick cost calculations in early bidding stages
• Support the Bid Manager with tender requests and contribute to commercial strategy
• Define cost structures according to customer requirements, contracts, and internal processes
• Lead cost optimization activities and challenge contributing functions
• Collaborate with finance and procurement to enhance the competitiveness of the bid
• Consolidate cost components according to financial guidelines
• Lead cost estimation during negotiations and update cost commitments
• Transfer cost data to the project phase and analyze deviations
• Contribute to Make or Buy analyses and solution comparisons

Your profile

• 3–5 years of experience in similar roles within bid management, estimating, or project controlling
• Post-secondary education in finance, engineering, or industrial economics
• Good understanding of financial analysis, pricing, and cost control
• Fluent in Swedish and English
