At Avesta Hospital - Clinic for Acute Medicine Geriatrics and Rehabilitation, we are the small hospital with the big heart. Our occupational therapists work in a wide field with both outpatient and inpatient care in various parts of the clinic's receptions and wards, such as rehabilitation, geriatrics, medicine, emergency care, home rehab, outpatient rehab, and specialized palliative care at home. During the summer, parts of the outpatient clinic are closed, which means you will primarily work in inpatient care with a focus on medicine or geriatrics and rehabilitation.

Acute, Medicine Geriatrics and Rehabilitation is now looking for summer substitutes for 2026 and is seeking you who are an occupational therapist or have completed your 4th semester as an occupational therapy student.

Summer Substitute Occupational Therapist, Avesta Hospital

We are looking for you who are an occupational therapist or an occupational therapy student and want to work person-centered in a team. With us, you will have a varied everyday life where you primarily work in inpatient care focusing on medicine, geriatrics, and rehabilitation, as well as, when needed, in home rehabilitation and in collaboration with the palliative team. You contribute your expertise to the rehabilitation process and collaborate closely with other professions.

Your job responsibilities include:

• Assessment, treatment, and training of activity and functional ability.
• Assistive device management and documentation in Cosmic.
• Active participation in interdisciplinary teams and planning of care interventions.
• Contributing to the development of the organization and mentoring colleagues.
• Supervision of occupational therapy students.

For occupational therapy students, the following is included:

• Participate in mapping and planning treatment together with the team.
• Perform individual training according to the prescribed program.
• Assistive device management and documentation in Cosmic.
• Opportunity to participate in home visits in connection with discharge.

We offer an introduction with the support of a mentor and professional development based on your individual needs.

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist with or without experience. If you are studying to become an occupational therapist and have completed semester 4 by summer 2026, you are also welcome to apply.

You are expected to have a good ability to collaborate, to be able to work independently but also in a group.

You need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language to communicate in writing and verbally.

Driving is required for the position; a driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle is an advantage.
