The Swedish Armed Forces is looking for you to become an officer at the Armed Forces Intelligence and Security Centre (FMUndSäkC)

We offer a stimulating position as a leader where you can truly make a difference. You do not need prior military experience as the first thing you will do as a new officer is undergo training, education, and guidance for your position.

The Armed Forces Intelligence and Security Centre is a hub for education and development within the Armed Forces' national and international intelligence and security services. The centre is joint for the armed forces and was established in 1998 when the Air Force and Army intelligence schools and the Defence Language School were merged into Uppsala garrison.

Special Officer Training

You will receive special officer training (SOFU). The training will start within a month after your employment and will last for 18 months.

The mandatory trainings for SOFU are:

  • Command Course - mission training at FHS Karlberg, approximately 26 weeks

In addition, necessary competence development/training will be required to meet the specific demands of the position. Adjustments to the training content may occur based on the individual's previous military education. Position

We are looking for someone who wants to become an officer with a focus on the area of Imagery Intelligence; initially, the position will involve a role as a teacher in the subject.

The Unit

The Education Unit meets the Armed Forces' need for intelligence and security personnel through methodology and analysis training in intelligence and security services. The unit is organized into the Security Forces Division, Intelligence Division, Security Division, and Imagery Intelligence Division (Bildundavd). The Security Forces Division is located in Halmstad, while the other divisions are in Uppsala.

Imagery Intelligence Division

The current position is located at the Imagery Intelligence Division (Bildundavd) where the teaching team trains the Armed Forces' Image Interpreters. The training at the division includes recognition knowledge, image analysis, and intelligence photography. The division is in an expanding phase where additional teachers are being recruited to meet the Armed Forces' increasing need for image interpreters.

Qualifications

  • A university degree of at least 180 credits that includes a written thesis of at least 15 credits.
  • Military basic training and insight into what is expected of you in your upcoming role as an officer.
  • Good color vision
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
  • Acting in accordance with the Armed Forces' values and code of conduct
  • Driver's license (B)

Meritorious

  • Leadership experience from professional life or volunteer work.
  • Education relevant to the Armed Forces.

Personal Qualities

You are a person who takes responsibility, seeks and drives your tasks, is dynamic, and supports where needed. The position requires both very good stress tolerance and the ability to collaborate. You have the ability to prioritize and are pedagogical. You are flexible and see the entire Armed Forces as your workplace in a future officer career. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
