Description
At the Vision Center, we work with habilitation and rehabilitation for individuals of all ages with visual impairments or blindness.
Our team consists of dedicated vision teachers, social workers, administrative staff, optometrists, and ICT technicians who collaborate to meet each patient's unique needs.
We are now looking for someone who wants to be part of our team and make a difference for individuals with visual impairments or blindness. With us, you will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise in a meaningful job where collaboration and development are in focus.
This is a position to be filled at the Vision Center in Skövde. To reach out to relevant professional categories, more than one ad has been published, as several professional categories are eligible to apply for the position.
Responsibilities
As a vision teacher with us, you will have an important and varied role where you primarily meet adult patients with visual impairments or blindness. Your responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and creating care plans based on a person-centered approach and our mission.
- Testing, training, and prescribing assistive devices. Visual adaptations in smart devices.
- Working to strengthen the patient's independence through strategies in daily activities.
- Collaborating with other healthcare providers.
Qualifications
You are positive, have a pleasant demeanor, and the ability to switch between independent work and teamwork. It is important that you see opportunities, can take your own initiatives, organize your work, and contribute to a good working atmosphere. You are structured and take responsibility for driving your and the team's work forward.
You should be a qualified occupational therapist, optometrist, ophthalmic nurse, orthoptist, or have completed another academic education deemed relevant by the employer. If you have work experience in rehabilitation/habilitation, education, or experience in visual rehabilitation or ophthalmic care, it is an advantage. As support in your introduction, we offer internal training and the opportunity to shadow an experienced vision teacher. This provides you with a secure start and good conditions for integrating into the work effectively. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
