The Prison Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand, and client transport.

The VO remand center in Helsingborg currently consists of the restrictive remand center in Helsingborg and the Berga common remand center. The remand center has various departments, including a restrictive department, a youth department, and a women's department. Berga remand center receives clients without restrictions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a cook, you will prepare meals primarily for the detainees at the remand center, but also to some extent for the staff. The tasks include all activities commonly found in a large kitchen, such as planning, purchasing, and preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The tasks also include cleaning the kitchen facilities, dishwashing, and self-control in accordance with applicable legislation. Preparation of diet food and other special diets is also included. The work is done in collaboration with staff in other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and self-aware. You remain calm and controlled in stressful situations and collaborate well with others. You have good judgment and take responsibility for your tasks.

Requirements

• Restaurant or large-scale kitchen education at the high school level or other education combined with experience deemed relevant by the Prison Service.
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

Desirable

• Experience working in a large kitchen.
• Experience working with self-controls.
• Relevant language skills.
• Driver's license B.
