Service Technician at Viskan Prison

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and are now looking for more employees. Our primary goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand centers, and client transport.

Viskan Prison is a closed prison that began receiving inmates in March 2025. The largest professional group is prison officers, but we also employ healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production leaders, and more. Inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or industrial production. Viskan Prison is easiest to reach by car, and staff parking is available.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a service technician at Viskan Prison, you will be responsible for operationally related system and property management, such as handling locking systems and access control systems, the overarching alarm system of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, and fire alarm systems. Your tasks will also include monitoring and troubleshooting the prison service's systems related to assault alarms, Rakel/radio communication, cameras, etc.

You will receive an introduction and close initial collaboration with the service technicians on site to help you get started. Collaboration will also occur with other service technicians within the Saltvik operational area.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who works well with others and takes responsibility for their tasks. You are calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions, and you plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. Furthermore, you make correct assessments and priorities in your work and have a good understanding of the professional aspects of the job.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A technical education at least at the upper secondary level, with a focus on electricity or another direction that the employer deems relevant.
• Work experience as a security technician or equivalent work experience that the employer considers relevant.
• The ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

• Experience and/or education in other security systems such as alarms, locks, electricity, telecommunication, and video storage.
• A valid driver's license (B).
