Job Description
Course Coordinator for Preparatory Course in Total Defense and Rescue Services
We are looking for a teacher for our newly started education, the Preparatory Course in Total Defense and Rescue Services. The education serves as an exploratory year for those who want to learn about and experience various aspects of total defense and enhance their skills to pursue further opportunities in defense, coast guard, police, emergency medical services, civil defense, or rescue services, such as the MSB's training in Protection Against Accidents.
The person we are looking for is multi-skilled and can deliver many parts of the education themselves, but it is not a problem if there is a lack of expertise in any of the areas. The important thing is that our course coordinator is proactive and competent, can coordinate a packed schedule, develop their own educational materials, and enjoys a challenge.
The position can range from 50% to 100% depending on the applicant's preferences and skill profile.
Responsibilities
Course development, delivery, and overall responsibility for the Preparatory Course in Rescue Services and Total Defense, which includes the following:
Plan, implement, and continuously evaluate the course.
Book guest lecturers and coordinate part-time staff for the course.
Arrange and conduct study visits with rescue services, ambulances, coast guard, police, armed forces, etc.
Ensure a good balance between personal training and nutrition, fire/rescue services, and healthcare, etc.
Drive course development and collaboration.
Competence Profile
You are interested in rescue services, total defense, and civil preparedness and how we can work with preparatory education within folk high schools. You are energetic, enjoy a challenge, and want to create a great course for our motivated participants.
Pedagogical experience as a teacher, instructor, personal trainer, group leader, or similar. This course is new, and there is no precedent for it, so you must be able to create content yourself, following a set syllabus.
Documented experience in course development, project management, or leadership in a development role (or similar experience that can be considered equivalent, such as being self-employed).
Professional experience related to rescue services, fire, ambulance, armed forces, police, coast guard, or similar is highly meritorious.
Preferably previous experience with folk high schools (personal or professional) and an understanding of folk education and its methods.
Knowledgeable in several areas, such as rescue services, healthcare, police, armed forces, coast guard, CBRN, first aid, personal training, injury prevention, and ergonomics, or personal experience in training to maintain physical fitness for service, nutrition, preparedness, and preparation for university entrance exams (participants take the university entrance exam to improve their chances of advancing to higher education).
More about the course
Theory regarding rescue services, preparedness, healthcare, and emergency care is combined with practical exercises and study visits. Participants receive training to become Civil Response Persons (Cip), CPR training, emergency care training, fire protection, and preparedness. They also study psychology and receive coaching on how to take the university entrance exam to improve their chances of entering higher education. Physical training is a significant part of the course, as is nutrition.
