What risks arise when trees are too close to the railway? Fallen trees on tracks and overhead lines cause significant disruptions to train traffic every year. As a project manager for tree safety, you help reduce these risks - by planning, procuring, and following up on measures that make the railway both safer and more reliable.

Project Manager Maintenance with a Focus on Tree Safety

You are responsible for driving projects related to tree safety - from ordering and procurement to implementation and follow-up. The work often involves collaboration with forestry contractors who both fell larger trees and carry out maintenance clearing along the railway. The assignments focus on preventing trees or brush from falling onto tracks or overhead lines, thereby reducing operational disruptions in train traffic.

You belong to a group of project managers and support functions working in the same area but with different geographical responsibilities. The work is based on close collaboration, where access to land, coordination of resources, and common working methods are prerequisites for success.

You lead and coordinate contractors, plan time, resources, and budget - but you also need to be prepared to roll up your sleeves when required. The role involves both independent responsibility and close cooperation with construction managers, project engineers, administrators, and other functions within and outside the organization.

Your assignment includes, among other things:

• Independently lead projects based on orders
• Plan, procure, and manage the implementation of tree safety measures
• Follow up on time, budget, forecasts, and quality
• Ensure that working environment, safety, environment, and risk management are integrated into project implementation
• Build collaboration with contractors, construction managers, landowners, municipalities, and other stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of working methods, routines, and follow-up models
• Support and develop others within the team or in adjacent roles

You are a structured and self-driven project manager who enjoys working where conditions can change along the way and the solution is not always obvious. You find it easy to make decisions even in uncertainty, and you like to create order in complex assignments.

We are looking for someone who has:

• At least 3-5 years of experience leading projects in the contracting phase, preferably within infrastructure
• Experience with budgets, forecasting, and financial follow-up
• Knowledge of procurement, AB04, and contract law
• Knowledge of the client's responsibility for the working environment
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
• Driver's license for passenger cars

It is an advantage if you have:

• Post-secondary education or courses in project management
• Experience in developing working methods, processes, or colleagues in previous roles
• Negotiation experience and experience collaborating with external parties
