Specialist Physician or Resident in Palliative Medicine

We are now looking for a specialist physician or resident in palliative medicine to join us at Halland Hospital!

About the Position

The Oncology and Palliative Medicine Clinic at Halland Hospital operates throughout Halland.

We have two well-functioning treatment units that provide elective oncology outpatient care as well as 4 palliative consultation teams (in Kungsbacka, Varberg, Falkenberg, and Halmstad). Within the clinic, there is also a care department in Kungsbacka for geriatric rehabilitation and palliative inpatient care. The size of our hospital allows for short communication paths and close collaboration with other clinics.

The palliative consultation teams (PKT) are a resource for patients with progressive incurable diseases and their relatives. PKT works with symptom relief and other specialized support of both medical and psychosocial nature. The work often occurs in consultation with the responsible physician within specialist or primary care, as well as with the municipal home care services. We collaborate closely with social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, and representatives from the hospital church.

PKT also conducts training in palliative care and offers observation opportunities for staff during further education.

PKT is in an expansive phase and provides specialized physician resources in the palliative general care department in Falkenberg, which is operated under the management of Primary Care Halland.

The position pertains to PKT Halland, but the majority of the work will be located in Kungsbacka.

Qualifications

You who apply are a fully trained specialist in palliative medicine, or you are a licensed physician with specialist training in another relevant area that may be of interest. This requires some experience and familiarity with working with patients in a palliative stage. Furthermore, we expect that there is an intention to undergo residency training in palliative medicine. After employment, we will collaboratively design an individual training plan for the additional specialty in palliative medicine.

For this position, we require a B driver's license.

We are looking for someone with an interest in working with palliative care. You are used to working closely with others, are responsible, and enjoy continuing to develop our common working methods.
