The press and social media unit at the communications department is now looking for an editor.

Our operations

The communications department of the church office is responsible for providing effective communication support and contributing to the church office functioning as a cohesive force for the entire Church of Sweden. The Church of Sweden has been an active presence online for over a decade. The social media editorial team is part of the press and social media unit, which is one of the units in the communications department. Our work on social media is characterized by engagement, good responses, personal replies, and a touch of humor. We want to create space for conversations and sharing of faith and life, and we are passionate about meeting people where they are – even digitally.

We are now taking the next step to strengthen our presence and reach more young people on more platforms. Therefore, we are looking for an editor for social media, with a particular focus on moving images and creative production. An important part of the assignment is to build and develop the Church of Sweden's presence on YouTube.

As an editor with us, you will help shape the future communication of the Church of Sweden, where we together create content that touches and engages. You need to have a good grasp of the constant flow of new channels and digital trends. You will, together with three editors, an online priest, and four press secretaries, be part of the press and social media unit led by the press manager.

Responsibilities

As an editor for social media, you will:

• Produce content for our social media channels, including text, images, and moving images.
• Develop the strategy for the Church of Sweden's YouTube channel and drive its development.
• Moderate comments and respond to questions about faith, activities, and doctrine.
• Work with monitoring and conduct training within your area.

The position involves some on-call duties during evenings and weekends.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who is creative, structured, and passionate about creating meaningful communication. You have a strong ability to collaborate and are skilled at building and maintaining relationships, both internally and externally. You are communicative and confident in expressing yourself in both text and images, and you have a knack for creating content that engages and resonates.

You have:

• Relevant education in communication, media, or equivalent.
• Previous experience in developing strategies for social media, especially YouTube.
• Experience working with social media, focusing on moving images.
• Knowledge of creating content for different target groups and platforms.
• The ability to work both strategically and operationally on projects of varying scope.
• A creative streak and enjoy collaborating in teams to develop ideas and content.
• A confidence in meeting people in vulnerable situations.
