Substitute at Strängnäs Municipality's Staffing Unit

Are you curious and flexible? Do you enjoy meeting people and want a dynamic and varied job where no workday is the same? Then the position as a substitute with us might be something for you!

Strängnäs Municipality's Staffing Unit is looking for substitutes for our special accommodations (nursing homes), home care services, and alarm and night patrols. Working as a substitute suits you who are attentive, driven, and enjoy meeting people. You are calm, and your demeanor and positive attitude make it easy for you to build good relationships with clients, relatives, and colleagues. You are flexible and appreciate a dynamic and varied job where no workday is the same.

Our clients, whether they live in special accommodations or in their own homes, need assistance in their daily lives, which may include personal care and hygiene, cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, or going outside - all based on the clients' wishes.

The need for substitutes in our operations may vary, and selection is therefore based on need. As a substitute with us, you work as needed, with hourly pay, and the agreement covers agreed working hours and times. A new employment relationship begins each time you work a new shift.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

If you work at one of our beautiful special accommodations, you will assist our clients on-site with what they need support with on a daily basis. A large part of the work is done individually with the client, but you have colleagues on-site, and together you distribute what needs to be done during the shift.

In home care, you work with our clients in their own homes and support them with the tasks they have been approved for. During your shift, you walk, bike, or drive between clients' homes. You usually visit clients in their homes alone, but you are part of a work team.

Documentation is part of the job, and your working hours vary between day, evening, and weekend. We are also looking for night staff for some of our units. To be eligible for employment, you need to be able to get to and from work, even in the evenings and weekends, without always relying on public transport. This is especially important when it comes to work in our accommodations outside central Strängnäs, e.g., Vansö, Åkers Styckebruk, and Mariefred.

The work includes performing delegated tasks, and after a certain period of employment, it is also a requirement to take delegation so that we can continue to book you for shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • turned 18 years old.
  • good ability to express yourself in spoken and written Swedish.
  • experience using IT as a support in daily life since some documentation and scheduling are done in our systems.

To work in home care, it is also important that you can bike.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

  • education in nursing.
  • previous experience working in healthcare.
  • a B driver's license and driving experience (if you want to work in home care/alarm and night patrol).

When working in home care, you need to be prepared for pets to be present in our clients' homes.

Your personal qualities are important to us! We want you to share the municipality's values: development, respect, openness, and clarity. A positive attitude towards work and a strong interest in working with people are the foundation for you to thrive with us. You are open, attentive, and easily collaborate with others. With us, no day is the same, and you enjoy variety and can easily adapt if unforeseen events occur in the work.

Selection and interviews are ongoing, so submit your application today!
