The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Child Rehabilitation, and Family Health in Gävleborg constitute a common area of operation. We are a total of about 300 employees distributed among the three parts. We have clinics in Hudiksvall, Bollnäs, and Gävle, as well as two inpatient care places and a specialized unit for eating disorders in Gävle. Our operations serve about 57,000 children. We have close collaboration between primary care psychiatry and specialist care and create our care programs for the entire care chain.

The medical group consists of 16 senior physician positions and 4-5 resident positions, in addition to 10-15 junior doctors each year. We have a good collegial cohesion, with regular meetings and development days. Several of our doctors are active in research, and we have a diversity of specialties including child psychiatry, child neurology, pediatric medicine, adult psychiatry, and general medicine.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As deputy head of the care unit and senior physician, you will work closely with the unit's head of care, where you will jointly be responsible for the medical group. Together you will lead the unit from a holistic perspective and plan for its future direction, as well as lead the daily operations. The position as deputy head of the care unit comprises 20% of your working time and includes personnel responsibility for the junior doctor group. The core assignment consists of senior physician duties.

The personnel responsibility for the junior doctor group includes managing employee and salary discussions, schedule planning, competency supply issues, as well as planning, leading, and following up on the junior doctors' work and assignments.

Your main tasks include:

  • direct personnel responsibility for the unit's junior doctors
  • organizing development days and managing patient safety issues
  • conducting consultations and digital visits
  • participating in on-call activities and supervising resident doctors.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for an engaged and experienced senior physician with the ability to build good relationships. You treat everyone fairly and with respect, have the ability to create an environment where employees feel safe to share information and collaborate with each other. You show enthusiasm for new initiatives and improvements and have the ability to realistically assess the pace of change. As a leader, you take responsibility for both your own and the team's commitments and encourage others to do the same. You have an open and reflective attitude and value honesty and transparency. You make well-founded decisions and act decisively without being impulsive, which means you maintain calm and focus even in pressured situations. Accessibility and openness in your approach contribute to a work climate where employees thrive and develop.

To succeed in the role, the following is required:

  • specialist medical degree in child psychiatry, child neurology, or another relevant field.
