The Cardiology Intervention Center (KIC) belongs to the cardiology department. The unit includes a cardiac intensive care unit (HIA), a cardiac ward, day care, and a heart clinic. KIC has a lab for coronary angiography and a lab for pacemaker surgeries. The day care has six to seven care places staffed during the day and evening on weekdays. The HIA has four care places and currently provides both medical intermediate care and cardiac intensive care.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a nurse at KIC, you will be part of a team with doctors and nursing assistants. You will work in a highly sterile environment related to implant surgery. On-call duty at home is included approximately four weekdays/five weeks between 16:00-07:00 and one weekend/five weeks where both active duty and on-call duty are included. The response time is 30 minutes. You will complete PCI training worth 7.5 credits during paid working hours. The role includes rotation to day care/ÖVA or to HIA.

In day care, patients are prepared and monitored before and after procedures. This includes nursing, documentation, medication, and pre/post information. Here, you will collaborate with a nursing assistant and coordinate patient flow.

In HIA, we are tasked with treating patients coming from the emergency room, ambulance, other wards, and clinics. We receive Mobimed calls from the ambulance within Region Gävleborg and are also part of the team during cardiac arrest alarms at the hospital.

As a nurse with us, you will work with:

• preparation of patients for planned or acute procedures/examinations
• assisting doctors during angiography/PCI and pacemaker surgeries
• cardiac monitoring and ischemia monitoring
• arterial needles, arterial sampling
• administration of potent medications.

• participation in a developed mentorship program
• the opportunity to take a cardiology course at the University of Gävle during working hours.
• internal training sessions held on Tuesdays/Thursdays.

QUALIFICATIONS

In the role of nurse, you should:

• be a licensed nurse.

Previous experience working in PCI, cardiac care, emergency care, or intensive care is advantageous.
