During the day, there is a coordinator who manages and coordinates the daily operations in the department, we have a care planner who assists with planning for patients' discharge, as well as physiotherapists and occupational therapists responsible for rehabilitation efforts for our patients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nursing assistant in the lung department 109L, you will have a varied and exciting job that provides you with broad skills. The work is diverse with both acutely and chronically ill patients of all ages, and the pace varies as do the tasks. You will care for patients with pulmonary diseases such as asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, and lung cancer. The position includes standard tasks in an acute lung care department.

As a nursing assistant with us, you will work with:

• basic nursing
• dressing changes and various sampling after delegation.

With us, you will receive:

• mentorship from experienced colleagues
• two weeks of introduction.

Your initial time with us will be a learning period regarding pulmonary medical care, including starting inhalations, learning nursing, dressing changes, and various sampling after delegation.

The position involves day and evening work throughout the week.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a driven and skilled nursing assistant who is good at communicating while being a secure and attentive person to your surroundings. You enjoy a varied workday and have the ability to quickly adapt to different situations. You should also have good collaboration skills and be responsible, as well as have the interest, will, and ability to help others.

In the role of nursing assistant, you should:

• be a trained nursing assistant.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have experience with sampling and/or dressing changes.

Information about the title nursing assistant

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in health and care. You can apply for the certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in health and care, but with a different title than nursing assistant. In Region Gävleborg, this means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant until your certificate is submitted.
