How you'll make an impact
- As a Category Manager, you are responsible for identifying, developing, and securing the best suppliers within quality, cost competitiveness, and sustainability. Develop regional agreements when suitable to secure and increase Spend under Contract KPI and to secure capacity when possible.
- Work closely with project teams in tender and execution on RFQs, supplier proposals, and evaluation of supplier quotations. Propose alternative suppliers from the standpoint of regional strategy and supplier capacity to leverage project timeline and cost.
- Drive and negotiate with suppliers on project terms, prices, lead times, and other contractual terms.
- Collaborate with global category leads and category managers/strategic buyers in other regions to leverage purchasing power and maximize cost savings.
- Drive and execute regional product strategy and continuous improvement initiatives including supplier performance evaluation.
- Collaborate strongly with regional marketing and sales, tender, and engineering teams.
- You ensure that our suppliers comply with the laws, regulations, standards, certificates, and directives that Hitachi Energy requires of its suppliers.
- You build strong international contacts both internally within HV and with our suppliers. Travel at work both within Sweden and abroad is required for this role.
Your background
- You have an academic degree in a relevant field: Engineering, Sales, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent work experience.
- Work experience in supply chain/sales/project management for at least 5-10 years.
- Technical and market knowledge about HV Products.
- Excellent communication and networking skills as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You also have a strong sense of ownership and an entrepreneurial attitude.
- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken; Swedish is a plus.
- You are a team player with strong communicative and collaborative skills who likes to interact with other people.
- You are used to a multicultural and challenging global business environment and can handle several tasks in parallel.
- Described as an energetic, motivated, and self-confident person who can handle both ups and downs and manage problems that may occur.
