We are now looking for a technical writer for SAAB in Linköping who wants to contribute to the development of maintenance manuals for airborne products/systems. Here, you will be an important part of the work to create clear and accurate instructions that are then used by technicians during the maintenance of the product/system.

The role combines both writing and technical preparation, and you will be responsible for gathering materials, interpreting engineering drawings, and crafting the material in Simplified Technical English (STE). You will work in XML-based tools where the information is structured and tagged according to applicable standards.

In the writer role, you will work closely with engineers and designers, which provides a deeper understanding of the products/systems you describe. You create your own scripts, which offers great variation where you have the opportunity to gather information and analyze to then prepare your own material.

The group is characterized by a non-prestigious culture where everyone collaborates and supports each other. Here, there are both civil engineers and employees with practical backgrounds from production and assembly. You will become part of a welcoming team that values community, coffee breaks, and activities even outside of work.

• Experience working in XML or SGML environments
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• At least two years of experience as a technical writer
• Technical educational background or equivalent practical experience

Experience with the standards ISpec 2200 and/or S1000D, as well as good knowledge of Simplified Technical English (STE) is highly meritorious. If you also have experience working with electrical systems or service bulletins, it is an advantage.
