Our client

Our client is a world-leading player in the development, sales, design, and manufacturing of large engines and generators for various applications. They are globally responsible for four- and six-pole machines as well as synchronous condensers and deliver their products worldwide.

About the role

As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), you will be a key person in the client's quality team of five. The role involves acting as an important link between the company and its suppliers regarding product quality. You will work closely with both internal specialists and external suppliers to ensure that high-quality products are delivered on time.

The work is varied and gives you the opportunity to influence both processes and results. You will become a valuable part of a dedicated team focused on continuous improvements and long-term relationships.

Main responsibilities

  • Create and manage claims on purchased materials against suppliers, including:
    • Receive cases from production and document in the claims management system (SAP)
    • Request and follow up on corrective action reports (8D) from relevant suppliers 
    • Initiate checks of materials in stock as needed
    • Communicate updates to all involved parties
    • Decide on incoming inspection of upcoming material purchases
  • Drive improvement activities related to purchased materials and internal processes 
  • Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues to strategic SQE as needed
  • Coordinate and document deviation approvals from suppliers 
  • Manage and document outcome testing of new items or during supplier changes
  • Initiate and drive improvement projects together with suppliers, focusing on quality and cost optimization
Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with good collaboration skills. You are analytical, structured, and results-oriented, while also having a questioning and problem-solving approach.

We are looking for someone who has
  • Several years of experience in a similar role and/or a university degree in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering
  • Experience in manufacturing and processes
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

It is a plus if you have

  • Previous experience in supplier quality
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis methods, such as 8D, DMAIC, or similar

Start: December 1, 2025 Location: Västerås, 100% on-site from the office Scope: Full-time, weekdays with daytime working hours Employment type: Fixed-term employment until June 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension
